what a long strange trip it's been.

Twenty-five years ago at tea-time, I was born. It was one of the hottest days in the second hottest summer on record in central Illinois. A hot clear day following storms the night before. I was born with the sun in Virgo, the moon in Taurus, and a rising sign of Capricorn. Mercury was in Libra, Saturn was in Scorpio, and everything else was either Leo or Sagittarius. Fire and Earth, with little else to mitigate it.
I found out today that I am a member of Generation "Cold Y". what does this mean? no one's sure. just that we are in between, a lost and/or ignored crop of children trapped between our egocentric parents and our overbearing younger siblings, clutching with both hands to our security and carving our own lives, dreams, and families out of the confines of the culture around us.
what will the next 25 years bring? I have no idea. Honestly, I never thought I would live this long. the idea of myself doubling it boggles the mind. but, I will be interested to find out.

perhaps tonight I will dream it.
